20 Years of ISPE Argentina: Driving Regional Collaboration and the Future of Pharma
2025 marks a significant milestone for the ISPE Argentina Affiliate with its 20th anniversary—commemorating two decades of commitment to excellence, collaboration, and integrity within the Latin American pharmaceutical community.
What began as a small group of professionals eager to learn and exchange best practices has evolved into a vibrant regional network driving innovation, education, and global connection.
Today, the ISPE Argentina Affiliate stands as a leading voice in the region, shaping not only local conversations but also contributing meaningfully to ISPE’s global vision for the future of the pharmaceutical industry.
A Milestone of Growth and Recognition
Over the past 20 years, the ISPE Argentina Affiliate has grown from a local initiative into one of ISPE’s most dynamic regional Affiliates. Guided by the principles of excellence, collaboration, and continuous learning, the Affiliate has prioritized professional development, regulatory alignment, and the exchange of knowledge across borders. Its programs, workshops, and strategic initiatives increasingly position Latin America as an important contributor to global industry discussions.
This upward trajectory was formally recognized at the 2025 ISPE Annual Meeting & Expo in Charlotte, North Carolina, USA, where ISPE Argentina received the ISPE Affiliate and Chapter Excellence Award, as part of the ISPE International Honor Awards program. The award honored the Affiliate’s sustained growth, innovative educational initiatives, and bold commitment to strengthening its regional network.
In the past year alone, the ISPE Argentina Affiliate achieved several key milestones that reflect its growing leadership:
- A 45 percent increase in membership, driven by expanded programming and stronger engagement strategies
- The launch of a six-month technical training program, designed to strengthen workforce capabilities in good manufacturing practices (GMP), validation, quality systems, and emerging regulatory frameworks
- Implementation of a customer relationship management system to enhance communication and operational efficiency.
- Fifty percent growth in its LinkedIn community—the Affiliate has transformed social media into a powerful tool for outreach, knowledge sharing, and professional connections

Education as a Pillar of Excellence
Education has always been at the core of the ISPE Argentina Affiliate’s mission. Over the past two decades, the Affiliate has remained steadfast in its commitment to continuous learning, creating opportunities for professionals at all stages of their careers to gain new competencies, explore emerging technologies, and engage with global best practices.
The past year has been particularly significant in expanding access to high-level training for professionals in the region. Among the most impactful initiatives was the webinar “Digital Validation in Life Sciences,” led by Eleonora Scoseria, Co-Owner and Director of Soluciones GXP, and aligned with the ISPE Good Practice Guide: Digital Validation. The session provided not only technical insights but also a strategic perspective—helping organizations understand how digital validation can strengthen data integrity, optimize workflows, and support compliance in an increasingly interconnected environment.
Another highlight was the EU/PIC/S Annex 1 Workshop, led by renowned experts Richard Denk and Ismail Kurt. This workshop offered a deep technical analysis of the revised Annex 1 requirements, focusing on sterile manufacturing, contamination control strategies, and regulatory expectations. More importantly, it showcased the ISPE Argentina Affiliate’s commitment to ensuring that local professionals can access world-class expertise without leaving the region.

Regional Collaboration and the Latin American Network
More recently, the story of the ISPE Argentina Affiliate has been defined by its growing leadership in regional integration. The Affiliate has played a central role in building and strengthening the ISPE LATAM initiative, a collaborative network launched in partnership with the ISPE Brazil Affiliate and the ISPE Mexico Affiliate. Together, the three Affiliates have helped elevate Latin America’s voice in global industry discussions, fostering opportunities for shared learning, regulatory convergence, and cross-border community building.
The 2024 ISPE LATAM Symposium in Mexico City, Mexico, marked a turning point. As the first in-person tri-Affiliate event in the region, it brought together experts, regulators, and professionals from more than ten countries. Conversations around Pharma 4.0™, sustainability, talent development, regulatory modernization, and digital transformation reflected both the diversity and the unity of the Latin American pharmaceutical ecosystem.
Building on this momentum, the ISPE Argentina Affiliate proudly hosted the 2025 ISPE LATAM Symposium on November 19–20, the second consecutive annual in-person conference and the first-ever LATAM conference held in Buenos Aires, Argentina. This event represented a major milestone in the Affiliate’s 20-year journey.
Organized in a hybrid format, the 2025 ISPE LATAM Symposium expanded access to participants worldwide, enabling professionals from outside the region to join discussions and share insights. Beyond its scale, the event demonstrated the region’s growing influence within ISPE and highlighted the depth of technical expertise across Latin America.
The agenda featured leading voices from regulatory agencies, global pharmaceutical companies, academic institutions, and technology providers. Discussions included:
- The evolving landscape of Pharma 4.0 and digital transformation
- Global and regional perspectives on Annex 1 implementation
- Sustainability and environmental stewardship in pharmaceutical operations
- Workforce development and the future of pharmaceutical talent
- Convergence opportunities across regulatory frameworks in Latin America
