Product Quality Director
Nicole Deschamps is currently the Product Quality Lead (Director) at GSK responsible for product quality aspects relating to the process development, technology transfer, registration, and launch of new products in biopharm and small molecule pharmaceuticals. Nicole joined GSK in 2007 after obtaining her PhD in Organic Chemistry from Stanford University and has held positions in both the Research and Development and Global Manufacturing and Supply divisions. She has been involved in the application of advanced technologies throughout her career, with applications ranging from the use of automation for high-throughput reaction and crystallization screening to defining quality standards for the use of novel enzyme catalysts in drug substance manufacture. She has supported the development and process validation of GSK’s first semi-continuous process for the manufacture of a drug substance. As part of this work, Nicole was instrumental in updating GSK’s quality system and leading the definition of GSK’s quality and operating principles for continuous manufacturing. Nicole has interests in developing quality platforms and capabilities to enable the realization of new manufacturing technologies in the pharmaceutical industry and is delighted to have the opportunity to do so as part of her role at GSK. Nicole is also a product quality leader for a variety of products spanning oligonucleotides, small molecules, antibody drug conjugates and monoclonal antibodies in development and in early commercial lifecycle.
