Dr. James DiNunzio has over 6 years of oral solid dosage drug product development experience and currently serves as an Associate Principal Scientist at Merck & Co. Dr. DiNunzio received his Ph.D. in Pharmacy (Pharmaceutics track) from The University of Texas at Austin, and holds B.S. and M.S. degrees in Chemical Engineering from SUNY Buffalo and Columbia University, respectively. Prior to joining Merck, he most recently served as a Senior Scientist at Roche where he was responsible for the development of amorphous formulations and novel technologies using melt extrusion. He has also held scientific positions at PharmaForm, LLC and Forest Laboratories where he was responsible for the development of immediate release (IR), controlled release (CR) and enabled drug products. He has authored numerous publications and has presented his research at national and international conferences. His research interests include solid dispersion formulation development for bioavailability enhancement, melt extrusion process development for pharmaceutical manufacturing and in silico process modeling of pharmaceutical unit operations.
