David Pappa is currently Director of Technical Services/Manufacturing Sciences in Eli Lilly’s Indianapolis Dry Products Manufacturing Plant. In his current role, David has responsibility for support of both commercial product manufacturing as well as the commercialization of new products. During the latter, he and his group have partnered closely with the Lilly Development organization in the implementation of the company’s first GMP Continuous Manufacturing platform for dry drug products. Additionally, David’s responsibilities include the oversight of the Lean Six Sigma program in the development and manufacture of pharmaceutical products at the Site as well as work in a variety of Regulatory/Compliance filings and inspections. Prior to joining Lilly, David worked for Procter & Gamble Pharmaceuticals in various Development and Manufacturing Support roles for more than 10 years. In total David has over 23 years of experience in solid dose products including traditional and novel technologies in granulation/blending, compression, encapsulation, coating, and product characterization techniques. David holds a B.S. degree in Chemical Engineering from Ohio State University and an M. S. in Industrial Pharmacy from the University of Cincinnati.
