The 2026 ISPE FOYA Honorable Mention recognizes the FJ3 Project at Chugai Pharma Manufacturing's Fujieda site, completed in November 2024. This world-scale facility offers dual manufacturing capabilities for conventional small molecules and next-generation midsize cyclic peptides within a unified equipment setup. By enhancing classical liquid-phase synthesis and introducing a proprietary Classical Solution Peptide Synthesis platform, the project successfully addressed scale-up limitations of solid-phase peptide synthesis, allowing for efficient production of cyclic peptides.
