Pharma 4.0 transformation depends on strong digital foundations that enable interoperability, scalability, and long‑term value across the manufacturing lifecycle. This track focuses on the core digital enablers required to support smart manufacturing, including data readiness, system architecture, governance, and execution platforms.

Modular and “plug‑and‑produce” manufacturing introduces both opportunity and complexity. Realizing its benefits requires agile, well‑governed digital foundations that support flexible production, seamless data interconnectivity, and integration across equipment, systems, and sites.

A data‑driven approach enables digital continuity from concept through design, construction, commissioning, qualification, and operations. Alignment with GAMP® principles ensures these foundations are planned, implemented, and maintained in a controlled, risk‑based manner that upholds quality and compliance.

This track highlights how foundational capabilities—such as data architectures, governance models, MES, and integration frameworks—enable scalable Pharma 4.0 outcomes, including advanced analytics, digital twins, and automation. Case studies will demonstrate practical approaches, including in legacy environments, and the measurable benefits achieved.

This track connects the latest regulatory innovations in Pharma 4.0 and new modalities with practical takeaways for GMP operations. It reviews how emerging oversight concepts—such as the FDA PreCheck Pilot Program—may influence expectations for inspection readiness, transparency, and quality system maturity.

Using inspection experiences with digitalized systems as a backbone, we discuss what inspectors look for when evidence is generated and managed digitally, with a strong emphasis on data integrity, governance, and end-to-end traceability. The session also examines data-driven quality decisions and how organizations can turn operational and analytical signals into defensible, timely quality actions.

A dedicated segment addresses smart validation (CSV) and QA for smart technologies: AI and beyond, including how to apply risk-based assurance to adaptive, software-intensive solutions. Building on Validation 4.0 (GAMP–Pharma 4.0™) and Advancing Pharmaceutical Quality (APQ), the track outlines approaches to accelerate digital lifecycles while maintaining compliance.

Finally, we cover the risk-based challenge of global data centers in uneven data‑protection environments, analytical enhanced quality, and automation for ATMPs, focusing on how to build a regulator-trusted digital evidence narrative.

Biopharma is entering a new era where advanced therapeutics meet digital transformation. From novel modalities and ATMPs to continuous biomanufacturing and optimized supply chains, the sector faces both significant challenges and unprecedented opportunities. At the center of this evolution is Pharma 4.0™, enabling data-driven, highly connected, and more flexible biopharmaceutical development and manufacturing.

This track explores how digital technologies—from AI and machine learning to digital twins and smart automation—are reshaping biotech across the entire value chain. Sessions will examine how Pharma 4.0™ can accelerate time to market, reduce cost of goods (COGs), and enable scalable manufacturing for complex therapies such as cell and gene therapies.

Through real-world case studies, we explore how intelligent operations enable quality and resilience without eliminating the workforce. We prioritize the "Workforce of the Future" and organizational change management (OCM), demonstrating how smart manufacturing tools empower operators and SMEs to make faster, more defensible decisions on the shop floor.

The primary objective of this track is to showcase presentations rooted in real-world evidence cases. We want attendees to leave each session with a concrete idea or strategy they can immediately apply within their own organizations. To achieve this, we encourage speakers to move beyond the "success story" and take us along the journey of mistakes made and lessons learned. By sharing the hurdles of implementation and the realities of the connected lifecycle, this track provides a pragmatic, transparent look at how intelligent operations are truly being realized in modern pharmaceutical manufacturing.

This area focuses on digital technology innovation and Pharma 4.0™–enabled advancements shaping the future of pharmaceutical engineering. We invite proposals that highlight forward‑looking, digitally driven concepts that extend beyond established tracks and demonstrate how data, automation, and advanced technologies are transforming pharmaceutical operations.

Sessions may address emerging digital architectures, advanced analytics and AI, digital twins, automation and robotics, connected enterprise systems, and new digitally enabled production or operating models. Submissions exploring early‑stage innovations, scalable digital foundations, and strategies for operational resilience, business continuity, and cyber‑ready design are encouraged.

Cross‑industry perspectives are welcome where digital tools, methods, or frameworks from other sectors have been successfully adapted to regulated pharmaceutical environments. We also seek proposals that tackle real‑world digital transformation challenges, including legacy modernization, interoperability, governance, data integrity by design, and workforce enablement.

Presenters should clearly articulate the technical or scientific basis of the innovation, its alignment with Pharma 4.0™ principles, and its practical impact on quality, compliance, operational performance, and patient‑centered delivery of medicines.
