During your visit you will get an overview of on Biocartis activities. You will have the opportunity to view Biocartis’ cartridge assembly activities in Manufacturing Line 1 and Manufacturing Line 2 (a second generation, high-volume assembly line). Furthermore, you will be able to see a demo room presentation of the Idylla Platform (the molecular diagnostic technology platform of Biocartis showing the interaction between instrument and cartridge).
We would start with a description of the site and our industrial activities, with Biotech focus, then visits of the BIO Pilot Plant and the UPS lab alternately for the 2 groups. After a description of our industrial activities principally around biotech, you will be able to visit the Braine Bio Pilot Plant and the UPS lab.

During the visit, you will have the opportunity to discover our four different filling lines, as well as our automated visual inspection lines and one automated autoinjectors assembly line in our packaging area designed for biotech products. We will also showcase the innovative technologies used within our laboratory to ensure reliable treatments. You will learn how our community of 1,500+ scientists overcome the most difficult challenges related to the development of life-saving treatments.
Plasma Industries is one of the leading Contract Development and Manufacturing Organisations (CDMO) in the field of protein therapies. Building on 60 years of experience, the company now processes between 3-4 million blood plasma donations annually coming from donors worldwide. Out of their donations, essential and lifesaving proteins are extracted and purified as a basis for treatment of many chronic, both common and rare diseases around the world.
Passionate Plasma Industries colleagues will showcase their operations which puts our customers central and supports this with the right focus on quality, efficiency, safety and environmental. During the visit, you will be able to learn about plasma proteins, the medicines which are already naturally present in our bodies and hold the promise of a revolution in disease diagnosis and therapeutic treatment. You will be able to witness the upstream supply chain and processing of plasma donations into protein pastes. A new plasma fractionation and purification zone which is currently under construction will also be visited.
