EU Young Professional Hack-a-thon

This exciting program offers a weekend of networking, collaboration, education, and innovation. Prior to the Hackathon, participants will receive information based on relevant, real-world situations in the biopharma industry and at the Hackathon, will be put into teams, each of which will receive a challenge based on the pre-read information. The teams then must work together throughout the weekend to develop a solution to the challenge. Young Professionals will be on hand to coach the teams and industry professionals will judge each teams’ solutions presentation at brunch on Sunday.

  • Saturday, 26 October – 0900-1700 Hackathon (Note: Teams are welcome to continue their work in the evening, if they wish) 
  • Sunday, 27 October – 0730-1100 Hackathon Continues 
  • Sunday, 27 October – 1100-1300 – Student & Young Professional Hackathon Judging and Brunch

All Students and Young Professionals are invited to join the Student & YP Hackathon Judging and Brunch, where the Hackathon participants’ presentations will be judged. In this exciting conclusion to the Student & YP Hackathon, watch the Hackathon teams’ present their potential solutions to industry-relevant real-world challenges to the Hackathon judges, and network with your peers and colleagues over brunch.

Hoover Dam - National Historic Landmark 

Hoover DamThe Hoover Dam is a testimony to a country's ability to construct monolithic projects in the midst of adverse conditions. Built during the Depression; thousands of men and their families came to Black Canyon to tame the Colorado River. It took less than five years, in a harsh and barren land, to build the largest dam of its time. Now, years later, Hoover Dam still stands as a world-renowned structure. The Dam is a National Historic Landmark and has been rated by the American Society of Civil Engineers as one of America's Seven Modern Civil Engineering Wonders

The ISPE Special “Hard Hat” Tour is off the normal tour route, conducted on the Arizona Wing of the Powerhouse. You will be able to walk on the generator floor and get VIP access to secured areas not offered the public.

Due to Hoover Dam security requirements application for Non-U.S. Citizens cannot be accepted after October 15, 2019 in order to process 2 weeks before event.

Solaris Farms - Next Generation Cannabis Greenhouse Solutions

Solaris FarmsWith more than 12-acres of land nestled in the heart of Las Vegas, Solaris Farms is a large-scale hybrid state-approved recreational and medical marijuana greenhouse facility. The state-approved space of over 300,000 square feet is being developed in two phases. Phase one, currently operational, consists of 34,000 square feet of cultivation, production and operational space. The next and final phase aims to develop the remaining space to the legal limits and become one of the largest and most technologically advanced greenhouse cultivation and production facilities in Nevada and possibly in the US.

The Tour includes a Meet and Greet with the Compliance Manager, Post-Harvest Manger and Master Cultivator followed by a tour of the Propagation Genetic Room, Veg Stock Room, Bloom Room, Harvest Room and Package Room.
